Nanded-Waghala Municipal Corporation Results: In 2026, the BJP emerged as the single largest party, winning 45 seats, followed by the others with 14 seats. Mumbai: The BJP has won the municipal corporation polls in Maharashtra, including Nanded-Waghala Municipal Corporation. Of the 81 seats in the Nanded-Waghala Mumbai Municipal Corporation, the BJP has won 45, followed by others who won 14 seats, as per latest result shared by officials. Shiv Sena (S) has won on 4 seats while NCP got 2 seats and Congress emerged victorious on 10 seats. Others have also secured victory on 20 seats. The elections were held on January 15 across 29 municipal corporations in the state, including Nanded-Waghala Municipal Corporation (NMMC). A total of 39,000 polling stations were set up to cover 2,869 seats in the state. The last municipal elections in Nanded-Waghala were held on October 11, 2017, when voters elected representatives to 81 seats. The Congress emerged as the single largest party, winning 73 seats, followed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with 6 seats. The Shiv Sena secured 1 seat, and the remaining one seat was won by Independents and Others. This time, the main contest was between candidates of the Mahayuti and Maha Vikas Aghadi alliances. The ruling Mahayuti alliance comprises the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-Ajit Pawar). The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) includes the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-Sharadchandra Pawar), and the Indian National Congress. However, the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) joined hands with the Shiv Sena (UBT) for the BMC polls, while the Congress has allied with the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA). The 29 municipal corporations include Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Thane, Ulhasnagar, Kalyan-Dombivli, Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar), Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar (Ahilyanagar), Kolhapur, Bhiwandi-Nizampur, Nanded-Waghala, Malegaon, Latur, Parbhani, Navi Mumbai, Vasai-Virar City, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Solapur, Amravati, Akola, Mira Bhayandar, Panvel, Chandrapur, Sangli-Mirajpur-Kupwad, Dhule, Ichalkaranji, and Jalna.

Mayor’s Post Reserved For General Women: Four BJP Corporators In Race In Nanded

The BJP has elected 12 corporators from the general women category, of whom four names are leading contenders for the mayor’s post — Jyoti Kalyankar, Manpreetkaur Kunjiwale, Shambhavi Saley and Kavita Muley Nanded: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a decisive victory in the Nanded Waghala City Municipal Corporation (NWCMC) elections, winning 45 of the total 81 seats and achieving a clear single-party majority. With the mayor’s post reserved for a woman corporator from the general category, the race for the top post has now narrowed to four women BJP corporators. The BJP has elected 12 corporators from the general women category, of whom four names are leading contenders for the mayor’s post — Jyoti Kalyankar, Manpreetkaur Kunjiwale, Shambhavi Saley and Kavita Muley. Jyoti Kalyankar won from Ward No. 1 for the second consecutive term. Earlier associated with the Congress, she joined the BJP after former chief minister and Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Chavan switched parties. Chavan backed her candidature from Ward No. 1 on a BJP ticket, and she emerged victorious. Kalyankar is considered one of the strongest contenders for the mayor’s post.
